Buying froth pumps — more froth pump orders go wrong at specification than at manufacture. The pump must be sized on froth flow, not on the airless slurry flow, and that is a factor of up to 1.8.
- Size on Qf = FVF × Qs, not on the airless slurry flow
- Brittle froth FVF 1.1–1.25; medium 1.25–1.5; tenacious 1.5–1.8
- Vertical build for light and brittle froth in a hopper
- Horizontal build with enlarged inlet and flow inducer for tenacious froth
- Keep total head below 35 m and NPSHr below 3.5 m
- Ten-step selection procedure published on the froth pump pages

Getting the Specification Right
The single most common froth pump problem is a pump one or two sizes too small, and it originates in the enquiry rather than in the works.
- Establish the Froth Volume Factor first. Froth occupies more volume than the slurry it contains. Qf = FVF × Qs, and for tenacious froth that is 1.8 times the airless flow.
- Then decide vertical or horizontal. Froth character decides, not flow or head. Brittle froth in a hopper suits the vertical build; tenacious froth needs the enlarged inlet and flow inducer of the horizontal build.
- Design the system, not just the pump. Total head below 35 m, pipe velocity below 2–2.5 m/s, NPSHr below 3.5 m, duty point left of best efficiency but above 25 % of Qbep.
- Do not plan to compensate with speed. Over-speeding a froth pump produces unsteady flow and oscillating discharge pressure. If the selection needs speed to work, the selection is wrong.

Supply, Certification and Inspection
We manufacture rather than trade — casting, machining, assembly and testing all happen in our own plants. That is what makes the technical answers on these pages possible in the first place.

What to Send With Your Enquiry
Send the airless slurry flow and solids concentration, the froth character or measured FVF, the static head and discharge line details, and the available NPSH. We will work the ten-step procedure and return the selection with the froth system curve.

Why is froth pump sizing different?
Because froth occupies more volume than the slurry it contains. Sizing on the airless slurry flow produces a pump one or two sizes too small.
How do we choose between vertical and horizontal?
Froth character decides. Brittle froth in a hopper suits vertical; tenacious froth needs the enlarged inlet and flow inducer of the horizontal build.
Can we correct an undersized froth pump by raising speed?
No. Over-speeding produces unsteady flow and oscillating discharge pressure. The selection has to be right at order stage.
What is your minimum order quantity?
One set. Wear parts can be added to the same order and ship in the same consignment.
What is the lead time?
Standard models held in stock despatch in 7–10 days. Other models are delivered within 30 days, depending on quantity, wet-end material and model.
What payment terms do you accept?
T/T, L/C and O/A, agreed against order size and the commercial relationship.
Do you hold CE and EAC certification?
Yes — ISO 9001:2015 covering quality, environment and occupational health, an energy management system certificate, CE under the MD and EMC directives, and EAC 004 and EAC 010 for the Eurasian Economic Union.
Are you a manufacturer or a trading company?
A manufacturer. Four production bases and ten subsidiaries, with casting, machining, assembly and testing in house, and annual casting output of 18,000 tonnes.
How are pumps packed for export?
In fumigation-free wooden cases, which avoids the treatment and documentation that solid-wood packing requires in most destinations.
Do you accept third-party inspection?
Yes. Arrange the inspection body with the order and we will schedule the works test accordingly.
