Cast, Machined and Tested in One Place

Cast, Machined and Tested in One Place

Casting, machining, assembly and testing under one roof.

Resin sand casting line

The foundry

Casting is where a slurry pump is won or lost, so it stays in house. Six medium-frequency induction furnaces feed an automated precision casting line, with a combined 35 tonnes of melting capacity and around 18,000 tonnes of castings a year. Two normalising furnaces handle heat treatment separately, so the melting and heat-treating steps are not sharing capacity. Keeping the melt shop on site means an alloy can be matched to a specific slurry, and a wear part re-cast without booking time at an outside foundry.

Machining and assembly workshop

Machining and assembly

Machining, assembly and casting share the same 200,000 m² site, 150,000 m² of it workshop floor. That is less about scale than about control: when a job needs a non-standard liner or an odd shaft length, it does not leave the building to get made. More than 500 people work across the plant.

Testing

Every pump is performance-tested before it ships. The research test platforms include a semi-automatic clear water bench rated to ISO 9906 Grade B accuracy, plus rigs for slurry performance, accelerated life, flowmeter calibration, rotating-disc wear and metal resistance. The plant also hosts a workstation of the Machinery Industry Drainage and Irrigation Machinery Product Quality Testing Centre (Shijiazhuang), which brings pump performance testing to GB 3216-2005 Grade 1 accuracy.

Inspection and measurement

Energy and environment

The plant energy use across casting, machining and testing runs under a certified ISO 50001 energy management system, alongside ISO 14001 for environmental management. For a foundry, that is not a badge — it is what keeps furnace and machining energy accounted for line by line.
