How Unattended Running Is Achieved

Sand-laden water carries entrained air, and air collecting at the impeller eye is what normally stops a submersible sand pump and forces an operator to attend it. The SP(B)Q answers this with a gas-isolation port on the mating face between the conductor and the impeller blades: gas entering the impeller is discharged through the vent instead of accumulating, so the pump keeps delivering without intervention. The arrangement is covered by patent ZL 202123102801.3.

Motor Cooling Without Full Submersion

The pumped medium is discharged through the outer sleeve of the motor and cools it on the way past, so the motor does not have to be submerged to stay within temperature. That makes the unit amphibious in practice: it will work in a shallow, falling or intermittently dry pit where a conventionally cooled submersible would have to be shut down. This cooling arrangement is covered by patent ZL 202123054344.5.

Duty Envelope

The semi-open impeller range covers 30-2,000 m3/h at 6-260 m of head, 3-315 kW, running at 720, 990, 1480 or 2960 r/min. Branch sizes are 65-400 mm and passing particle size is 7-60 mm, with medium temperature to 40 degrees C. Maximum working pressure is 1.0 MPa(G) up to 75 m of static head and 1.6 MPa(G) above it, with 2.5 MPa(G) available on special configuration. Wet parts are high-chrome alloy.

Reading the Model Number

A designation such as 100-SP(B)Q 120-50-37 reads as follows: 100 is the outlet diameter in millimetres, SPQ identifies the submersible sand pump, SP is the structure code, B indicates the automatic protection device, and 120-50-37 are the design flow, design head and motor power. Quoting the full designation when ordering spares avoids mismatches between frames of the same bore.

Is unattended operation real — how does the gas-isolation vent prevent air-lock in sand-laden water?

The SP(B)Q gas-isolated submersible sand pump vents automatically through a gas-isolation port, which prevents air-lock when pumping sand-laden water (patent ZL 202123102801.3). Its motor is cooled by the pumped medium and therefore does not need to be submerged (patent ZL 202123054344.5). Together these support continuous unattended running. The semi-open-impeller range covers 30–2000 m³/h at 6–260 m head, 3–315 kW, running at 720/990/1480/2960 r/min, with high-chrome alloy wet parts.
