Horizontal Slurry Pumps Engineered for the Toughest Abrasive Duty
A horizontal slurry pump is a cantilever, horizontal centrifugal pump built to move strongly abrasive, high-concentration slurry that ordinary water pumps cannot handle. Choose one when your duty involves metallurgy, mining, mineral processing, tailings, coal, power generation or river dredging. Tell us the solids concentration and particle size and we will confirm the model and the wet-end material.

Metal / Rubber / Ceramic Lined Options
Wet-end parts are interchangeable and matched to the medium: high-chromium alloy (Cr26/Cr27, hardness ≥ HRC 60) for coarse, high-abrasion slurry, or replaceable wear- and corrosion-resistant rubber lining for finer, corrosive or lower-head slurry. Grade selection follows the SAH wear-material system — e.g. A05 (KmTBCr27, δb ≥700 MPa, ≥HRC62) for high-impact abrasive wear, A49 for low-pH corrosive/FGD duty.
Pumps in This Range
SAH Slurry Pump — Metal-Lined Heavy DutyGeneral-purpose horizontal range; nine wear-material grades.
SHH High Head Slurry PumpHigh-head build for long lines and elevated discharge.
SZP Slurry Pump — BimetallicDuctile iron outer shell, high-chrome inner shell.
SMC High Efficiency Slurry PumpThree builds on one frame for SAG and ball mill duty.
Ceramic-Lined Build — SAZP Series
Where abrasion and corrosion occur together, a metal wet end is attacked from both directions at once. The SAZP build answers that duty with sintered ceramic wetted parts — silicon nitride combined with silicon carbide — in the front guard, impeller, pump body and rear guard. It is our own patented design, and a split pump-head construction keeps it simpler to install than a one-piece casing. Sealing is an expeller and packing combination, with grease-lubricated bearings and no thin-oil leakage path. Installation dimensions and parts interchange with metal slurry pumps, so it can go in as a direct replacement.

Typical Applications
Metallurgy and mineral processing, mine tailings, coal washing, power-plant ash handling, dredging and building-materials slurry. In mining duty the high-chrome wet end supports up to 8,000 hours of continuous running at a wear rate below 0.5 mm per 1,000 hours.

Selection Support
Share your flow, head, slurry SG, particle size and pH and our engineers return a frame, liner material and seal recommendation, backed by ISO 9906-class testing on a national-level rig.

Can you select the right model, material and sealing for my exact slurry duty (particle size, concentration, pH)?
Yes. Selection is driven by particle size, solids concentration and pH. Wet-end material and seal type are matched to the duty once particle size, concentration and pH are known. Send your duty data and we will propose the size and configuration.
Metal vs rubber vs polyurethane vs ceramic wet ends — which suits my slurry?
High-chrome alloy (Cr26/Cr27, hardness from HRC60) suits coarse, high-impact abrasive duty. Replaceable wear- and corrosion-resistant rubber lining with a rubber impeller suits finer or corrosive slurry. Polyurethane and ceramic wet parts are also available. Typical grades: A05 (KmTBCr27, δb ≥700 MPa, ≥HRC62) for high-impact abrasive wear at pH 5–12; A07 (KmTBCr15Mo, δb ≥550 MPa, ≥HRC59) where erosion rather than impact dominates; A49 (δb ≥600 MPa, HRC43) for low-pH duty at pH ≥4.
What flow and head range do your horizontal slurry pumps cover?
Coverage is by frame and size across the SAH, SHH, SZP, SMC and SAZP series, with SAH sizes from 1.5/1 up to 20/18. Model-by-model flow, head and performance curves are provided on request against your duty point.
Which seal type do you recommend — packing, expeller or mechanical?
Four options are available: expeller (dynamic) seal, packing seal with PTFE or graphite, mechanical seal, and combination seal. The choice depends on the duty and on whether seal water is available at site.
