What to Decide Before Ordering
Four decisions at order stage set the cost of ownership for the next several years.
- Wear material against the actual slurry. A05 high-chrome for coarse angular solids at pH 5–12; A07 where erosion dominates; A49 below pH 5; rubber or polyurethane for fine rounded solids. Getting this wrong is the most expensive mistake available, because it shows up as parts consumption rather than as a failure.
- Sealing arrangement. An expeller seal removes the gland water supply, its pipework and its consumption from the installation entirely, but is limited to inlet pressure not exceeding 10 % of discharge pressure. Packing needs water at a rate set by frame size. Decide before the plant layout is fixed.
- Frame standardisation. Frame type — A through U — fixes the bearing assembly, grease charge, gland water rate and axial adjustment. A fleet built on fewer frame types carries a smaller spares inventory.
- Initial spares. Impellers, throatbushes and liners ordered with the pump ship in the same consignment. Ordered later they become a separate lead time and a separate freight cost.
Where the duty varies across a plant, note that the metal-lined, light-duty and rubber-lined builds share body, cover, bracket, bearing assembly and mounting form. One frame can serve two duties by changing only the wet-end elements.

What to Send With Your Enquiry

Should we order spares with the pump?
Usually yes. Wear parts ordered with the pump ship in the same consignment and attract one freight cost. Ordered later they become a separate lead time.
Can one frame serve different duties in the same plant?
Yes. The metal-lined, light-duty and rubber-lined builds share body, cover, bracket, bearing assembly and mounting form. Changing the wet-end elements changes the duty.
How do we reduce spares inventory across a fleet?
Standardise on fewer frame types. Frame type fixes the bearing assembly, grease charge, gland water rate and axial adjustment, so a fleet on fewer frames carries fewer distinct spares.
What is your minimum order quantity?
One set. Wear parts can be added to the same order and ship in the same consignment.
What is the lead time?
